The homes typically have three or four bedrooms and are either colonial or ranch style homes. Most homes feature a full basement and two-car attached garages. Houses range from $237,000 to $325,000.

One of the newer communities in the area is Applebrooke, which consist of 24 homes. These houses are either colonial style or a cape cod floor plan. Sizes range between 3100 to 3900 square feet. Farmington Hills History

The first settler was a Quaker from Farmington, New York, Arthur Power. He purchased land in 1823 and returned in 1824 with families and others to clear the land. The settlement was then called Quakertown. Once the first post office was established in 1826 it was named Farmington. Farmington was eventually established in 1827 and incorporated as the village of Farmington in 1866 but later incorporated as a city in 1926 and was then known as Farmington Township. It wasn’t until two subdivisions in the area were incorporated that it became known as Farmington Hills in 1973.

Within Heritage Park are Stables Art Studio, Spicer House, Nature Center, Day Camp, and an Amphitheatre.
